Structural Concrete Skilled Tradesman

Position Overview:
The Structural Concrete Skilled Tradesman performs hands-on work in the placement, finishing, and formwork of structural concrete, as well as block work and steel stud framing as needed. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and knowledge of construction techniques to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality results on commercial, residential, hospitality, and select industrial projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute structural concrete tasks, including formwork, rebar placement, pouring, finishing, and curing.

• Assist with block installation and steel stud framing as required by project scope.

• Follow blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.

• Operate hand and power tools, concrete vibrators, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, adhering to all safety regulations and best practices.

• Collaborate with foremen, superintendents, and team members to complete tasks according to schedule and quality standards.

• Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.

• Report issues, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

• Assist in setup and removal of forms, scaffolding, and temporary supports.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in structural concrete construction.

• Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, and formwork techniques.

• Experience with block work and steel stud framing is a plus.

• Ability to read and follow construction drawings and specifications.

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.

• Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
