Project Overview
The Four Points by Sheraton Biloxi Beach Boulevard is a 195-room, eight-story full-service hotel located directly across from the Beau Rivage Resort and the Gulf Coast beaches of downtown Biloxi. Originally developed under the Starwood Hotels brand, the project represented a key component of Biloxi’s post-Katrina hospitality revival and reopened the city’s beachfront hotel corridor in 2010 following a major redevelopment initiative.
The hotel features waterfront guestrooms, a signature restaurant and bar, conference spaces, fitness center, and resort-style outdoor pool terrace, all positioned to serve both leisure and business travelers within Biloxi’s expanding casino and entertainment district.
Magnum’s Role & Scope of Work
Magnum Construction Services Inc. was engaged as a Tier-1 shell and structural subcontractor, responsible for delivering all primary concrete, structural steel, and metal-stud framing systems. The scope included the complete structural frame, floor slabs, and architectural envelope supports for both the guest-room tower and the podium level.
Key Components
-
Foundations & Slabs: Reinforced concrete foundation system and post-tensioned elevated slabs engineered for coastal soil conditions.
-
Structural Frame: Composite steel-and-concrete frame forming the hotel’s eight-story structure with mechanical penthouse.
-
Masonry & Envelope: Concrete block shear walls, architectural CMU, and façade attachment framing for the glass and stucco exterior system.
-
Metal Stud Framing: Interior and demising partitions, corridor framing, and structural backing for millwork and MEP integration.
-
Public Space Shells: Lobby, restaurant, and amenity deck framed using heavy-gauge steel and concrete support beams.
Execution & Quality Control
Magnum implemented its ISO-aligned Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the shell phase, including:
-
Continuous rebar inspection and compressive-strength testing.
-
Weld and bolt verification for structural steel connections.
-
Tolerance control on all vertical and horizontal framing systems within ±⅛ inch.
-
Full safety compliance under coastal construction standards, with zero recordable incidents logged across more than 30,000 man-hours.
Project delivery required logistical coordination within a constrained beachfront corridor, adjacent to active tourist traffic and limited lay-down areas. Magnum’s sequencing and materials management ensured uninterrupted workflow from foundation through topping-out.
Result & Impact
The completed Four Points by Sheraton Biloxi Beach Boulevard established one of the Gulf Coast’s most recognized hospitality landmarks—revitalizing Biloxi’s oceanfront skyline and contributing to the city’s post-storm economic recovery.
Magnum’s precise execution of concrete, steel, and framing systems provided the foundation for a durable, efficient, and aesthetically refined coastal structure capable of withstanding hurricane-zone conditions.
This project exemplifies Magnum Construction Services’ expertise in coastal high-rise hospitality, structural concrete and framing, and Tier-1 quality control across complex waterfront environments.
