Layout Professional

Position Overview:
The Layout Professional is responsible for accurately marking and setting out block and steel stud wall layouts for commercial, residential, and hospitality projects. This role ensures that all walls are positioned according to plans and specifications, providing a foundation for high-quality construction. Precision, technical skill, and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to establish wall layouts.
Accurately measure and mark locations for block walls, partitions, and steel stud framing systems.
Set reference points, lines, and levels to guide crews during construction.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and crews to ensure proper alignment and placement.
Verify dimensions and layout accuracy before and during installation.
Maintain a clean and organized layout workspace and ensure all tools are properly maintained.
Identify and communicate potential conflicts or issues in layout to supervisors.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols while performing layout tasks.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in layout for masonry and/or steel stud framing projects.
Strong knowledge of construction measurement, leveling, and layout techniques.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
Detail-oriented with excellent spatial awareness and precision skills.
Familiarity with layout tools and equipment, including laser levels, transit levels, and measuring devices.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field crews.
